How Guardian Protection Systems Cheats its Home Monitoring System Customers

Guardian Protection Services signed me up for Home Monitoring Services when I bought my new home in December 2008. They sent a Sales Rep named Marion to my home who kept talking just the good things about the service and never told us about the catches in the contract. She signed us up for a 3 year contract.

This month (Sept 2010) we are moving to California and want to cancel the service as the apartment in California won't let me install any Monitoring system . When I called their Customer service they refused to cancel the contract and requested me to pay the remaining 15 months of monthly fees ($39). They said that the contract has it in fine prints. So I called the Sales agent Marion and she confessed that she didn't mention what it would take to break the contract but expressed her helplessness as the head-office is uncooperative when it comes to helping existing customers with contract issues. 

Guardian Protection Services has exorbitant fees as compared to other home monitoring services. They are very unprofessional people who talk good before customer signs up and then show their unfriendly faces. My main concern is that they don't do business ethically by telling the customer what it would take to break the contract or atleast get the customer's initials next to the fine prints. 

All they want is customer's dollars and once the customer signsup it is a nightmare for the customer to get any kind of cooperation .

So Guardian's plan is to keep billing me $38 per month till Dec 2011 and they will auto-renew the contract if I happen to forget to tell them not to renew the contract 30-days in advance (before 23rd Nov 2011) !!!!


Highlights of the Contract Scam:
- There are numerous blogs online that show sad stories of its customers whom Guardian locked up for 5 years
- This is not a usual contract with nominal penalty . Their penalty involves paying off the remaining months
- When they sell the contract they don't tell their customer about the penalty
- if you buy a new home, they will send Sales guys to your home who somehow talk you thru, misguide by telling you that other monitoring services are expensive and not reliable
- Guardian Protection Services is most expensive service ...

IT IS A SCAM and the company has no good ethics and is in bad faith of looting their customers, locking them up with expensive contracts ....STAY AWAY FROM GUARDIAN PROTECTION SERVICES
